Overview

Rediscovering your community is central to “The New Faces of UMass Dartmouth.” In this four part-series alumni, students and faculty share their stories about why UMass Dartmouth is a transformative place.

Challenge

UMass Dartmouth is a public university comprised of six predecessor institutions. Our challenge was to create a campaign that built affinity between the University’s alumni who associate with their various institutions, and the university community today. The campaign also had to actively connect students, alumni, friends, families and faculty.

Solution

Working with the series creator, Jennifer Raxter in the University Advancement Office, we conducted a search for participants who’s experience reflected the diverse communities that make up UMass Dartmouth. Each video runs between three and four minutes and profiles one person with UMass Dartmouth as the common thread. The series was shared via social media and viewers were encouraged to engage with the school. The result… individual stories helped build bridges of common experience and created a renewed feeling of engagement with the University. It even helped the University Advancement Office win a gold CASE Circle of Excellence Award in video fundraising. Mission accomplished!
